چکیده

Abstract In order to mimic the natural heterogeneity of native tissue and provide a better microenvironment for cell culturing, multi-material bioprinting has become common solution construct models in vitro . With embedded printing method, complex 3D structure can be printed using soft biomaterials with reasonable shape fidelity. However, current sequential method faces major challenge, which is inevitable trade-off between structural integrity precision. Here, we propose simultaneous method. this easily print firmly attached high-precision multilayer structures. multiple individually controlled nozzles, different precisely deposited into single crevasse, minimizing uncontrolled squeezing guarantees no contamination embedding medium within structure. We analyse dynamics extruded bioink both analytically experimentally, quantitatively evaluate effects parameters including speed rheology medium, on morphology filament. demonstrate double-layer thin-walled structures, each layer less than 200 μ m, as well intestine liver 5% gelatin methacryloyl that are crosslinked extracted from without significant impairment or delamination. The peeling test further proves proposed offers conventional methods. serve powerful tool support heterogeneous fabrication open unique prospects personalized medicine.

Multifunctional 3D printing of heterogeneous hydrogel structures

Multimaterial additive manufacturing or three-dimensional (3D) printing of hydrogel structures provides the opportunity to engineer geometrically dependent functionalities. However, current fabrication methods are mostly limited to one type of material or only provide one type of functionality. In this paper, we report a novel method of multimaterial deposition of hydrogel structures based on a...

Integrated Design and Simulation of Tunable, Multi-State Structures Fabricated Monolithically with Multi-Material 3D Printing

Multi-material 3D printing has created new opportunities for fabricating deployable structures. We design reversible, deployable structures that are fabricated flat, have defined load bearing capacity, and multiple, predictable activated geometries. These structures are designed with a hierarchical framework where the proposed bistable actuator serves as the base building block. The actuator is...

Instrumented cardiac microphysiological devices via multi-material 3D printing

Biomedical research has relied on animal studies and conventional cell cultures for decades. Recently, microphysiological systems (MPS), also known as organs-on-chips, that recapitulate the structure and function of native tissues in vitro, have emerged as a promising alternative. However, current MPS typically lack integrated sensors and their fabrication requires multi-step lithographic proce...
